Happy Don’t Fry Day!!!

For many of us, the Friday before Memorial Day means summer is here and sunshine awaits us. While warm and hot days lie ahead, the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention declared this special Friday to be “Don’t Fry Day.”

Enjoy the outdoors and remember too much sunlight exposure can have negative consequences, and you know that means more than just reddened skin.

To help reduce your risk of overexposure to sunlight, use common sense and incorporate multiple means of sun protection.

This includes:

  • Broad spectrum coverage sunscreen/ sunblock use and reapplying every 2 hours
  • Seeking shade + avoiding the midday sun between 10am – 2pm
  • Wearing sun protective clothing including wide brimmed hats, sunglasses
  • Being careful in areas where the sun’s rays are intensified like near water, snow and sand.

Happy Friday, but remember NOT to FRY!
