Burt's Bees Citrus Facial Scrub

Indeed, Burt’s Bees Citrus facial scrub is a delight to use in the wintertime. It rescued my face when all I saw in the mirror was dry, flaky skin on top of dry, cracked skin. Even applying moisturizer twice a day was not providing any relief. Isn’t it a terrible feeling when your skin is so dry, it starts to hurt??

Presently, I use this product every 2-3 days, I find it exfoliates my skin nicely, removing all the flakes without causing redness and leaving soft, supple skin, and my pores in check. Having used this product for over a month, I haven’t experienced any acne break outs. I have read other reviewers say they find the scrub lacking as an exfoliant but it works for me and I would buy it again in the future. After scrubbing, I do use a light moisturizer such as (affiliate link) Andalou Naturals Resveratrol Q10 Night Repair Cream.

For someone who has used a variety of scrubs, I describe the citrus scrub to be a gritty scrub with mostly medium sized granules between the sweet almond seed meal, oat kernel flour, orange peel powder and pecan shell powder. The sweet almond oil and glycerin gives a nice balance of softening and moisturizing. If you have very oily skin, this scrub may not be the perfect fit as it did leave my skin feeling oily when I used it in the spring. However, if you have dry or combination skin, this product would not be over hydrating.

This is a scrub with a thick consistency to it so I recommend wetting one palm and scooping out a small dollop of scrub with the other hand, and gently rub your hands together to spread the scrub. Then, apply and gently scrub the face.  

As far as scents go, the product smells pretty yummy like oranges and pumpkin spice but there is only a hint of scent which lingers on your skin after rinsing. Overall, this is a perfect scrub for dry winter skin.
